With the sun out shining for longer and a warmer feeling in the air, getting glammed up and ready for a date night sounds way more appealing in the summer. Today I’ve gathered together some makeup picks that I feel would be so summer date night appropriate.
Starting off with foundation, a summer go-to makeup base is one that is dewy and radiant. This is so ideal for date nights because you want to look as glowing as possible. My favourite foundation for achieving just this is the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. It does exactly what it says. It makes your skin look brighter, radiant and provides a nice natural medium coverage.
To brighten up your under eye area, I always opt for a full coverage concealer to help banish those dark circles. I’m currently loving the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer. It’s not only so affordable but provides exactly what I’m after. You cannot go wrong with this one!
I like to move onto brows next. For a date night, it’s completely up to you how you want to style your brows. But I love to make mine look more defined and fuller. To achieve this, I use the NYX tame and frame brow pomade. It’s so quick and easy to use.
After I’ve done my brows, I move onto my eyeshadow. I’ve not yet shared the Stila Liquid Eyeshadows on my blog yet, but I am absolutely obsessed with them. They are the perfect eyeshadow product when you want to add some glamour and have a stand out eye look since the pigmentation is insane. They’re also so quick and easy to use, so if you’re in a rush these won’t let you down.
Once I’ve finished eyeshadow, I’ll move onto my finishing products. I usually start with a highlighter and throughout the summer I definitely opt for more liquid and cream based products. For this look, I’ve used the Primark P.S Strobing Highlighting Cream in Pearl. It provides such a lovely glow to your skin without being too intense.
For bronzing up the skin, I’ve used a cream-based product to contour my face and my go to is the Rimmel Insta Duo Contour Stick as it just makes cream contour so damn easy. You could also use the highlighting end of the stick as your cream highlight to make the most out of the duo. To finish off my bronzed look, I’ve bronzed my skin using the Seventeen Define and Contour kit, to add some warmth to my face.
Tip: You could also use the bronzing shade in this kit as your transition eyeshadow shade through your crease.
Sticking with my cream based products, I much prefer to use a cream based blush all around anyway, but in particular in the summer. They’re so much easier to control and provide such a natural flush of colour to the cheeks. The NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Boho Chic is perfect at doing just this.
To finalise the look, I went for a bold red lip pick from Bourjois’ Rouge Velvet Range* in the shade Berry Formidable. Red lipstick always creates the aura of confidence and passion, so a perfect colour choice for a date night. Just be careful with the colour transfer on your date if you go in for a kiss.
These photos are absolutely stunning! And you look gorgeous xx

Aww thanks so much, Liv!!xx
What an amazing post Lauren, the photos are SO gorgeous! This is such a pretty look. I never used to really like the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation but lately I’ve been really loving it when I have a tan! I love getting ready for a date night and getting all dressed up! I’m a nude girl through and through so I’d probably go for a matte nude that will stay on through food, and perhaps a kiss or two! xo

It such’s a good concealer for the price! They’re so worth the investment. I love them xx
I’m currently enjoying the MUR concealer as well, but just wish it had a tad more coverage. Haven’t gotten to try the Rimmel Wake Me Up yet but I do love L’Oreal’s Pro-Glow and Maybelline’s Fit Me foundations.

What do you use to blend it in with? I find a sponge is a lot easier than say a brush xx
ooo I don’t think I’ve tried my beauty blender with it. I’m a firm lover of my blending brush from ELF though xx

Ohhh loving all your picks – they’re beautiful! I always changeup my products compared to winter, it’s so refreshing when you change or use different products and colours but my go-to this year is bronzer, highlighter and mascara for a lovely glow. 🙂
