I like to every so often do updates on my current skincare routine over on my blog. Although sometimes products within my routine don’t change that much unless I’m testing a new product from a brand or have invested in something new.
But since I haven’t updated my blog in a while with my current skincare that is really helping to keep my skin looking clear and feeling better, I thought it was about time I put together a post on it.
I have mentioned this cleanser on both my blog and Instagram before and it’s one I’ve used on/off for the past couple of years. My Mum actually got me into the No7 Radiant Results Cleansing Lotion and it’s one I really love now. It reminds me of Liz Earle’s Hot Cloth Cleanser, but less thick and instead more hydrating.
I use this both morning to cleanse my skin, ready for the day ahead and then again at night to cleanse away the dirt and makeup from the day. I really love this cleanser and think it works really well at keeping the skin clean, hydrated and fresh. It’s really been helping to keep my skin clear as well as smooth and soft.
Since using this religiously, my breakouts have decreased which is amazing as I was getting a good few breakouts every single week. Now I’ve had one in the few weeks so it’s made a massive difference.
Nivea Micellair Skin Breathe Micellar Water*
Sometimes when I like to do a double cleanse or when I want a quick cleanse when I sleep at Matt’s, I’ve been recently also reaching for the Nivea Micellair Skin Breathe Micellar Water*. I love to use this before my main cleanse or on my eyes to remove eye makeup as I find it a lot more gentle than using a lotion cleanser and on my lips to remove any lipstick stains from the day.
Unlike some micellar waters I’ve tried in the past, this one is non-harsh or drying, so it feels gentle on the skin especially the delicate eye area. Because of this it also makes removing stubborn eye makeup so much easier and it always leaves my skin feeling so soft afterwards not dry.
I had tried this scrub before when Matt got it a few months back and I knew it was a good one, but now I have it in my collection. I really love to use the Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Exfoliating Scrub* once a week to remove any dead skin cells.
I like to apply it around and on my nose and on my chin area where I tend to break out the most. It’s a really gentle scrub that doesn’t leave your skin feeling sore or dry afterwards. But even though it doesn’t feel rough, it still does a good job at leaving your skin feeling so cleansed and smooth afterwards.
Another product that I like to use once a week is the Freshly Cosmetics Emerald Clay Facial Mask*. I don’t really use this all over my face especially on my nose because I was finding it was stinging it for some reason. Although I had previously used it there many times before and had no problems, so whether my skin has suddenly gone sensitive I’m not sure.
But anyway I tend to use this on my chin which again is where I experience the most breakouts. I find this really helps to eliminate toxins from the skin, helps to treat acne and cleanses the skin. It’s been a great addition to my skincare routine and I’m glad I’ve been including it more recently as I feel like along with everything else it’s been making a huge difference.
I had been wanting to add an eye cream into my skincare routine for quite a while. I actually used to use one a few years back, but never saw much difference so kind of got rid of it out of my routine. But after trying the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum* I’ve fallen in love with them.
This eye serum is so hydrating. My under eye area always looks so bright and hydrated. It makes applying makeup and in particular concealer so much easier as I feel like it prevents my concealer from sinking into lines or looking dry. I just love the look it creates and how much difference it has made to my under eye area. It really is a great product to use especially on those tired days!
I’ve been using this moisturiser on/off for the past few years. The Nivea Daily Essentials Light Moisturising Day Cream* is one of my favourite ever Nivea products. It’s such a great moisturiser. It provides hydration, moisture and smoothness to my skin. It really helps to prevent dry skin and keeps my skin looking healthy yet glowy throughout the day.
I always continue to repurchase this product and it’s always one I go back to even if I have tried something new as I just find it so beneficial and it’s a product that my skin just seems to really get on with. I couldn’t fault Nivea moisturisers in-general to-be honest!
As you probably can see I only tend to use 3 to 4 products on a daily basis in my skincare routine and add in a couple throughout the week to give my skin that extra care.
When I had a very heavy product packed routine, I found I was always breaking out and wasn’t really giving my skin a chance to breathe on its own. But since stripping my skincare routine right back to basics, going back to old favourites that I know my skin loves and treating it with a few extra’s during the week, I’ve noticed my skin has improved massively.
I’m now on the hunt for an spf to add to my skincare routine as I feel like it’s an important step that I shouldn’t keep neglecting. So if you have any recommendations, then please send them my way.
