The more I’ve got into my skincare the more I’ve wanted to try out different tools and techniques to improve the condition of my skin. The Magnitone London BaredFaced 2 Cleansing and Toning Brush* has been the first electronic cleansing tool I’ve ever tested out and today’s post is going to be a full review on this handy tool.
So what is the Magnitone London BaredFaced 2 Cleansing and Toning brush*?
It is a 3D vibra-sonic daily cleansing which basically means it uses a combination of movements that go back and forth in a regular rhythm and pulsed vibrations to cleanse and tone the skin on a daily basis. This brush can be used both morning and night.
It has three cleansing modes in total including toning to give your skin an extra boost, sensitive which is more suited to the morning and deep cleanse that is perfect for the night after wearing makeup all day. The brush also comes with antibacterial bristles that help to prevent bacteria build up after each clean. Although the brush heads need to be changed every 3 months to ensure the best results.
The BaredFaced 2 Cleansing and Toning brush* come’s with wireless USB charging and improved battery life meaning if you have access to a charging point you can bring your brush with you on your travels. It also comes with a super handy bath caddy that you can place your brush inside and use to drip dry your brush with ease. Plus it’s waterproof so you can use it in the shower or bath.
My first impressions of the brush
Before we get into the more important things, I just have to say how cute is the brush! It’s such a good size. It’s not too big nor is it too small. It’s just perfect. And it’s pink! Which if you know me, then you know I love pink. It also comes in white so if you’re not such a big pink fan as I am, then there is another colour choice available for the Magnitone London – BareFaced 2*.
I love how easy and quick the charging is. Upon getting this out of the box, it was already half charged which meant I only had to charge it around an hour for it to be fully charged. The charge itself also lasts a good amount of uses as well which is helpful as you don’t want to constantly have to charge it in between uses.
When I first tested the brush, it was night time so I was testing out the deep cleanse option. Prior to using the brush, I used a cleansing balm on my skin as the first step in my cleansing routine. Then for the second step, I wet the brush and then applied a milk-based cleanser onto the brush head.
I pressed the button on the brush twice to activate the deep cleanse mode and then began to use the brush on my skin. I actually began the cleanse with the brush on my forehead which was a bad idea as it meant the water from the brush just ran down my face. So I quickly moved it down my cheek to avoid this happening again and instead did my forehead last.
Upon my first use, I really enjoyed the feeling of the brush on my skin. It was like having a facial massage. It was so soft and gentle not harsh at all. My skin also felt amazing after using this. It felt so soft and smooth, as well as being feeling refreshed and cleansed.
I was so surprised with how much left over makeup was actually still stuck on my skin and it really highlighted to me how important a double cleanse is to removing that stubborn makeup and dirt.
The Magnitone London – BareFaced 2* works so well to glide around your face. It only lasted for one minute which is a good amount of time to go around your whole face, but if I’m being honest, I wanted to make it last that little bit longer as it felt so nice.
How to actually use the brush
To avoid having water running down your face as I did. It’s a good idea to start with one side of your face. I either go from the side of my nose or my cheek, then every 20 seconds (the brush vibrates when you need to move area) I move onto another area like my chin before moving round to the other side of my face where I repeat the same steps. Then I finish on my forehead which by the time you get there you will avoid the water problem as I did.
You can either applying your cleanser straight onto the brush or onto your skin. It’s entirely up to you!
When using the toning brush which has soft, rubber silicone massage nodules that aim to stimulate and lift the skin. After cleansing using either the sensitive setting or double cleanse, grab any serums, oils or creams that you wish to use.
Apply these directly onto your face rather than on the brush. Press the button on the brush 3 times to activate the toning mode. Then exactly like you would with the other cleansing modes glide the brush gently over your skin, massaging your products into place, giving them more absorption and boosting your overall circulation.
My final thoughts and verdict
Overall, I’m really impressed with the Magnitone London – BareFaced 2 Cleansing & Toning Brush* and I feel so grateful that I now have this handy tool in my skincare routine to really help to take care of my skin. Because it’s so easy to use and efficient, I feel like it’s the best way to deeply cleanse my skin and make it feel instantly refresh especially after a long day.
I love that it comes with a toning head which is a great added bonus and really gets you to fully give your skin added benefits like stimulation. I really enjoy using this setting once a week for an added facial massage. The feature of the bath caddy makes drying between uses super easy and I love that I can use it when I’m showering for quickness or in the bath when I’m relaxing.
The brush itself is completely worth the price tag. I’m so impressed with how well it removes any stubborn makeup and dirt that has been left over from my first cleanse. I love how soothing and calming it is on the skin, as well as how soft and smooth it feels after every single use. I also love how I can transport it to and from my boyfriends with ease, as well as have the choice to take it on any trips because of the ease of charging.
I could not fault the Magnitone London – BareFaced 2 Cleansing & Toning Brush*. It’s definitely become a staple in my skincare routine!
